At Home Video Services we have a special passion for transferring movie film. Our commercial Retro Professional series of film scanners capture movie film with precision and quality literally photographing each frame of film, frame by frame direct to digital with a high brightness LED light source. The system does not use mechanical sprockets or claws that can potentially damage the film or cause it to misfeed. During scanning no contact is made with the visible film area and so the overall process is very gentle on film. We can even transfer film that has been damaged in some cases.

Our studio is equipped to transfer 8mm, Super 8, Super 8/sound, 16mm, 16mm/sound  and even 35mm movie film. When transferring film with sound we use the same high-quality optical process as with regular film to capture the images and a sniper pro audio system to perfectly capture and reproduce the sound exactly in sync with the video.

We pay attention to details putting the finishing touches to your transferred film. The video is color corrected to adjust for shifts in emulsion tint and we remove any long blank sections to provide you with ready-to-watch digital movies.

Your film transfer can be provided to you in a digital video format of your choice. We can provide your film memories to you on a USB flash drive as high quality universal mp4 files that can be easily shared, edited, copied or uploaded to your favorite cloud service using a PC, smartphone or tablet. The files can also be viewed on many smart TVs.

 

We can also transefer your video to long-lasting premuium playable DVDs where each film reel can be a thumbnail chapter in the menu. All of our DVDs have an ultra hard coat scratch-resistant surface.
